Safety in action across the building! ✂️🍳 September is Safety Month at WTHS, and our CTE programs are leading the way. Cosmetology students took a well-deserved photo break after wrapping up their safety exams, while culinary arts students are deep into review for their sanitation assessments. WTHS biomedical science students are exploring microbiology by studying bacteria and the effectiveness of various antibiotics. Here, students are presenting their research on how specific antibiotics target and attack bacterial cells. We are continually impressed by their brilliance!

Collaboration in action at WTHS! 🎬 Our custodial staff partnered with our Digital Audio-Video Production crew for a professional learning series on bloodborne pathogen safety. Custodians went through a staged spill simulation and proper cleanup training while students captured the footage to build training videos. Great job to everyone involved!

Students and Tony Saullo's auto three course already got a visit from our main man Chas Falson with Snap-On Tools. He came to present an award for SkillsUSA auto service technology second place in the state winner Jasper Ridley!
Welding students under the renowned Rick Stephens are already "laying dimes" and welding flower bouquets. We've got some serious "Girl Power" in here too- they will be putting together an all girls' welding team for SkillsUSA this year! Let's Go!!!

Our Pre-Engineering students under the incredible Silviya Gallo got out early in their aeronautical course looking at how different design elements impact necessary flight modifications. These kids will be building planes soon!
